The SoHo restaurant Lure Fishbar offered passersby free food and even small flower bouquets. The restaurant's owner said the food was going to go bad anyway, and he'd rather see it given away to people who might need it. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have been without power since Hurricane Sandy hit on October 29.
