By design, the Rally for the Republic was an inclusive event: no presidential candidate was invited to speak, although Barr was spotted in the hallway. These are supporters of Constitution Party presidential nominee Chuck Baldwin, who seems closer in views to Pat Buchanan than Ron Paul.
A Ron-Paul-O-Meter post, which gauges the pro-liberty views of presidential candidates, gives Baldwin 88 points out of 99, the same as Libertarian Bob Barr. (The site awards Barack Obama a rating of 17 and John McCain a rating of 25.)
