The Newseum is home to a large chunk of the Berlin Wall, weighing about 24 tons, plus a three-story East German guard post that once towered over the border near Checkpoint Charlie. The museum exhibit says that not even the 96-mile-long wall was able to prevent the flow of information: East Germans could listen to western TV stations in the evening. The Wall fell, of course in 1989.
