During the opening weekend, crowds were thin but interest among the visitors who did show up was high. This gallery includes highlights from Pulitzer Prize-winning photos of the last few decades, along with video interviews of the photojournalists who took them.
Because many of the iconic photographs are so emotional--the U.S. flag being raised on Iwo Jima, a prisoner of war reunited with his family--the recorded conversations can be intensely moving.
