Halloween brings out the geeks. It's the one day of the year for which it's OK to pour 10 hours or more into making a perfect life-size replica of your favorite social network.
"John Marsland is facebook...for halloween," read Marsland's Facebook status. "Will you write on my wall?" It's no message you would have seen on Marsland's actual profile on Facebook.com. The CNET analyst rigged a sandwich board Facebook costume and added touches from his online profile.
Marsland's costume also featured interactive goodies like an iPhone for viewing video, a photo album he attached for flipping through images, and a good old-fashioned Polaroid camera for instant submissions to his "Wall," (where Facebook users post messages). There were plenty of lip prints, too, in the "gifts" section, proving once again that Facebook is hot.
