Photos: Reinventing the (hamster) wheel at Maker Faire

The Solenopsis invicta (the scientific name for the red imported fire ant) is a robot created by Anthony Pratkanis that can find a candle in a four-room maze and blow it out. It makes one wonder how much longer it will be before robots are sent into buildings to put out fires.
