Photos: Going APE for indie comics

Art Spiegelman, another special guest at APE, is best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning book Maus, which depicted his father's Holocaust survival by portraying Jews as mice and Nazis as cats. He is also co-founder of RAW magazine; author of In the Shadow of No Towers, an autobiographical reaction to the September 11 terrorist attacks; and co-editor of the HarperCollins' Little Lit series of comics for kids.
