In his office, Hickel has a framed 1978 rejection letter that he received from the Star Wars producers after, at age 12, he submitted a proposed idea for a sequel to the hit film. In the letter, he is told that breaking into the movies "requires a certain combination of talent and luck, and is usually done through an agent here in Hollywood." After Hickel was hired at ILM, George Lucas signed the letter, underlining the word "talent" and adding "You have it."
