Photos: Open-source housing for those in need

The tent-like Tree of Life structure can be constructed with a variety of materials, depending on local availability. The supporting branches, for instance, could come from tree trunks, bamboo, or PVC piping, while the cover could be made of canvas, rugs, or tarp. A stabilizing base could be formed from a hole in the ground, or from rubble or a tree trunk.
