Colin McAuliffe, a freelance cameraman for Emeryville, Calif., start-up TurnHere, gets a piece of meat and a pepper ready for their close-up. Hoping to capitalize on the popularity of Internet video, TurnHere films, edits and packages minidocumentaries on local businesses that can be slotted into Web sites and used as advertising. The ads can be anywhere from 45 seconds to 2 minutes in duration, with a starting price of $300. The idea is convey something human about the business while keeping costs low.
