We'll get back to the aerial dancers in just a moment, but first let's drop in on CEO Steve Ballmer (center), who favored a suit and tie over a one-piece jump suit for his part in the Vista launch in New York. He was joined on stage by a number of hardware executives (seated from left to right): Kevin Rollins of Dell, Sean Maloney of Intel, Hector Ruiz of Advanced Micro Devices and Todd Bradley of Hewlett-Packard; hidden behind Ballmer is Hisatsugu Nonaka of Toshiba. The event on Monday at Cipriani restaurant was part of two days of festivities.

Ballmer said he expects initial sales of Vista to be five times what they were with Windows 95. "We'll probably go double what we did with XP," he said on Monday.
