Michael Dell (pictured here with AMD CEO Hector Ruiz at left) handed the CEO's job over to longtime company president Kevin Rollins in 2004. But in late January 2007, after a terrible year in which Dell faced everything from a market share slide to a battery recall to an accounting scandal, Dell forced Rollins out and returned to the chief executive's office.
