Photos: IBM's blade overhaul

IBM Researcher Ronald Ridgeway examines a blade server using the Cell processor, which was codeveloped by Big Blue with Sony and Toshiba.

IBM demonstrated the Cell blade on Wednesday in New York. It hopes the technology will boost visual graphics for customers in the fields of entertainment, medical imaging, aerospace and defense.
