Photos: Feting the best ideas in design

It seems like designers who nab a spot on the winners' list of annual International Design Excellence Awards have made it (or are well on their way). The recognition is significant: First there's an exhibition at the yearly conference of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), which is taking place in San Francisco this week. Then there's a spread in BusinessWeek (a co-sponsor of the IDEA awards), followed by an awards ceremony. OK, maybe the ceremony could be skipped, but the attention can certainly boost business.

Here are some of the 81 winners of the 2007 IDEA awards.

The Kodak Easyshare 350 Photo Printer, designed by Eastman Kodak Design, is a mini color photo printer with a bold effect. Using Bluetooth technology, pictures can be transferred wirelessly from a camera phone within seconds. Features of the device let people print odd-size photos or cast overlay text onto photos from the phone.
