This ceramic water filter costs $8, and replacement filters cost $4 each. Some 50,000 units have been sold through private dealers in Cambodia. Inside the plastic container are ceramic clay and colloidal silver paint, which have filtration and antibacterial properties. The nonprofit International Development Enterprises develops and markets this and other products that mostly serve farmers in rural regions of Asia and Africa.
