Photos: Stanford's X-ray vision

This is a BaBar detector, at the core of an experiment delving into the nature of matter and antimatter. BaBar stands for B and B-Bar, abbreviations for particles and antiparticles. Physicists are trying to determine why antiparticles aren't found in everyday life.
