Photos: The one-of-a-kind wooden bicycle

The quality of the woodworking in the homemade bicycle is apparent in this view of the headlight--the grinding and sanding bring out all the layers in the beech plywood. Eichler applied five coats of oil in the finishing and polishing phase.
