Isaac Asimov's 1950 collection of short stories I, Robot are about the interaction between humans and robots, and the stories set forth an informal robot code of ethics.

The book also probably provided the name for robotics company iRobot, which makes the famous Roomba and Scooba cleaning vacuums.
