The 16-foot Sea Breacher has a 175-horsepower Atkins Rotary engine, and Innespace plans to eventually use a 240-horsepower supercharged Atkins engine.

Meanwhile, other finishing touches are in the works. "We still have a lot of interior work to do," said Innes, who also runs a boat repair business.

Even with the finishing touches yet to come, the Sea Breacher recently was named to Time magazine's Best Inventions 2006 list.
