Meredith Patterson shows off her hacked Defcon badge. (Defcon is an annual underground hacking conference that took place earlier this month in Los Vegas.) She replaced the microcontroller on the badge with one from a USB and connected an iPod Shuffle and a speaker to it in order to display the music volume on a frame buffer.
