IDF's svelte laptops

Remember the MacBook Air? At this week's Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, the chipmaker showed off a number of svelte laptops.

Laptops account for an ever-larger fraction of personal computer sales, and computer makers are trying to offer a wider variety of options for buyers. While inexpensive Netbooks are all the rage, thin and light laptops with flashy designs command a price premium.
