Nintendo offers GameCube rebate

Video game company Nintendo on Monday announced a holiday rebate program for its GameCube console. The offer, running now through Dec. 14, gives customers $25 off the purchase of a new GameCube and another $25 off a WaveBird wireless game controller or selected GameCube titles. Eligible games include recently released hits such as "Metroid Prime" and "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4."

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft all cut prices for their game machines earlier this year, and Microsoft is trying to lure holiday shoppers with a deal that bundles its Xbox with a pair of games.
