Maxtor drives Sonicblue's ReplayTV

Maxtor is the preferred hard drive supplier for Sonicblue and its latest ReplayTV digital video recorder line, the 5000 series, Maxtor announced Monday. The Milpitas, Calif.-based company has been a hard drive supplier for Sonicblue since 1999. Maxtor's MaxLabs played a role in helping Sonicblue speed the time it took to bring its new DVRs to the market, according to Nikhil Balram, vice president of Sonicblue. The lab was established in 1997 to help manufacturers develop hard drive-based products.
