Handspring cuts price on Visor Pro

Handspring has cut the price of its Visor Pro handheld from $299 to $249, the device maker said Monday. The Visor Pro comes with a monochrome screen, 16MB of memory and a rechargeable battery. The cut is the latest in a series of price moves between rivals Palm, Handspring and Sony.

In related news, Handspring announced Monday that it will work with wireless software and services developer ViAir to market and sell products to wireless carriers throughout North America, Europe and Asia. ViAir's applications allow carriers to provide subscribers with secure wireless access to e-mail, contacts and appointments. Since the fall announcement of Handspring's Treo handheld/cell phone combo device, the company has been entering partnerships with wireless applications developers to better address the corporate market.
