Short Take: CBS scraps TiVo commercial
A commercial for digital video recorder firm TiVo that was to be aired during the CBS television show ''Survivor'' amid a $50 million ad campaign was rejected because it "disparaged the network TV business," the Hollywood Reporter said, citing a CBS official. The commercial will run on six CBS affiliate stations and cable networks nationwide while other TiVo ads will run on CBS. TiVo would have bought time during ABC's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" had it known the ad would be scrapped, the magazine said, citing a TiVo executive.
