Google puts the domain in Apps for Your Domain

Google is beefing up its Google Apps for Your Domain package of Web-based applications by including domain name registration services. As part of the service, Google hosts e-mail, calendar, chat and Web-publishing applications that organizations can offer employees and others. The update set to launch Friday lets businesses register for domains ending in .com, .net, .org, .biz or .info.

The Google Apps for Your Domain, which is in beta, is free, but companies registering for a domain will pay $10 a year for that subscription. Google is partnering with GoDaddy and eNom on the registration services. The company will offer a premium Google Apps for Your Domain service for a fee early next year, said Raju Gulabani, director of product management for Google Apps for Your Domain.

Yes, you are right. People need to wake up!

People should really wake up to the nightmare that Google & Yahoo are making the Web to be by entering business after business and thus killing any business that are in those other businesses. I mean in last few years Google & Yahoo have entered into following businesses: web site hosting, on-line dating, payment processing, real estate listing, etc. etc.
So how long before they are in my/your business and thus deliver it a mortal blow?
It used that be that the Web was a source of value for the people, for small businesses, but more and more it is becoming a source of value for a Google & Yahoo only with the rest of us getting the scrap off the tables if even that :(

That is why I support independent search engines, search engines that promise to ONLY be in the search engine business, such as this search engine called anoox. You can read about their promise here:
http://www.anoox.com/in-search-engine-business-only.jsp
& check this out too "Take the web back":
http://www.anoox.com/Take-the-web-back.jsp

So either remain with your head in the sand and use/support Google & yahoo to the determent
of yourself, your business or switch to independent search engines like anoox.

GMAIL Versus Google Apps

Look at http://www.ImAllAbout.com You can get a personnel Google Apps account such as @ImAllAboutGolf.com or @ImAllAboutMe.com. I have just signed up for an @ImAllAboutGolf.com account and I did not have to pick some cryptic email address.
