Boeing sets price on in-flight Net

Connexion by Boeing, a unit of aircraft maker Boeing, on Thursday announced pricing for its in-flight broadband Internet service. The service allows travelers to surf the Web and access e-mail. It will be available starting late April on Lufthansa German Airlines flights, and several other European and Asian carriers will offer the service later this year.

For flights longer than six hours, unlimited access to the Internet will cost travelers $29.95. For unlimited access on flights between three and six hours, the service will be $19.95. Access for flights less than three hours will cost $14.95. Travelers also can purchase service on a metered basis: The first 30 minutes will cost $9.95, and every minute after that will cost 25 cents. Airlines might let travelers buy access to the service using their frequent-flyer miles, but that option is still under consideration.
