Excite@Home Europe exec stepping down

The head of Excite@Home Europe, Evan Rudowski, will step down from his post as managing director on July 13, a company representative confirmed Friday. Rudowski, who made the decision to leave following the recent announcement of office closures in three European locations, is exploring other options with the U.K.-based operation but is also looking at opportunities in Europe and the United States. A replacement has not yet been named.

Excite@Home, headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., announced its plans to shutter media operations in France, Germany and Spain three weeks ago. Subject to local regulations, the closures are expected to take place next month. The company blamed a weakened Internet advertising market for the shutdowns.
