Short: AOL experiences glitch

America Online's members could not log on for about 45 minutes Wednesday afternoon because of a technical problem related to an equipment upgrade. The hiccup caused a flood of emails and phone calls to the company. But the system was up and running by Wednesday night, according to company spokeswoman Pam McGraw, although some members still were reporting problems with email. The glitch comes in the aftermath of a widely publicized 19-hour outage at AOL.
