Short Take: Qualcomm, US West test fast wireless Net

Qualcomm is teaming up with US West for trials of high-speed wireless Internet access. In April, the two companies will begin laboratory tests of a wireless service that promises peak download times of up to 1.8 megabits per second. The service, which is based on a proposed next-generation wireless standard, will not be available to consumers for some time.
