CNN breaks news via e-mail alerts

CNN.com on Monday launched a free service that will send breaking news to subscribers' e-mail in-boxes. Called "Your E-mail Alerts," the service lets people pick news by subject and choose how frequently they receive the alerts. Subscribers may also receive selected alerts from other publications, such as CNNmoney.com and SI.com.

The new service builds on a number of premium services that CNN.com already offers. These premium services include CNN NewsPass, which streams video news reports to subscribers for a monthly fee. However, CNN NewsPass is offered to America Online members for no additional charge.

I read something with CNN in it. Is it true?

This morning I read this post on the Parents.com message board. Please contact me and let me know if this is a true statement. Thank you in advance.

CNN announces the WORST VIRUS EVER!
A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by microsoft as the most destructive ever. This virus was discovered yesterday afternoon by McAfee and no vaccine is known as of yet. This vrius simply destroys Sector Zero from your computer's hard disk, where the vital information for its functioning are stored.
It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title "a card from you". when the card is opened, it causes your pc to freeze making you reboot your machine. When you press ctl+alt+del the virus then attaches itself. Yesterday in just a few hours this caused panic in New York, according to a newsbroadcast by CNN.

Please inform me ASAP if this is a true statement. Thus far I have been watching CNN and have not yet seen or heard any information about this, so I felt inclined to inform you about this posting and share it with you. Thank you again for this update.

Sincerely, Momawriter from Newark Ohio

why don't they drill holes in the bottom of the lifeboat, and force the pirates out, and within shooting range?
