Jabber gains new president, CEO

Webb Interactive Services says it has appointed Rob Balgley as Jabber.com's president and chief executive. Instant messenger Jabber.com was formed in March 2000 as a subsidiary of Webb Interactive Services, which offers an advanced XML-based technology platform. Jabber.com said Perry Evans, who is Webb's CEO, had been the acting chief executive for the IM service.

Previously, Balgley served as president and chief strategy officer of wireless data company MobileLogic; he also has held positions at General Electric and Case Communications.
