Short Take: Groups recycle spam for a cause

A coalition of antispam groups delivered a database of 150,000 unsolicited emails, collected on the Spam Recycling Center (SRC) Web site, to Rep. Gary Miller (R-California) and the Federal Trade Commission. The groups--ChooseYourmail.com, the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email, the Forum for Responsible and Ethical Email, and SAFEeps--support Miller's "Can Spam Act," a bill that would allow Internet service providers to sue spammers up to $25,000 per day.
