Short Take: N.Y. to consider two new regulatory bills

New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer has submitted two bills to the state legislature to prevent companies from selling computer users' personal information without permission and to curb unsolicited bulk email by requiring spammers to provide accurate return addresses. Spitzer also launched an Internet Bureau to coordinate statewide investigations and prosecutions of Net crimes and civil law enforcement actions involving computers and online services.
