Short Take: Injunction against Microsoft greeting card filter

A California state judge formally entered a preliminary injunction forbidding Microsoft from distributing software that blocks electronic greeting card notifications from Blue Mountain Arts. As previously reported, Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Robert Baines said at a hearing last week that he would issue the ruling, which takes effect on February 27. Blue Mountain sued Microsoft in December, alleging a spam filter in Microsoft's Outlook Express harms the greeting card publisher's business.
