Google to hire NYC engineers

Search company Google is hiring 100 software engineers to work in its New York office in Times Square, a representative from the Mountain View, Calif.-based company said Monday. The objective of Google's East coast hiring spree is to capture talent that's unwilling to move to California and to help fulfill the company's "mission to organize the world's information," according to the representative. Google employs about 800 employeees, half of them on the technical team. Currently, only three of the company's software engineers work in its New York office.
