Wells Fargo reins in online problems

Wells Fargo's online banking customers have experienced intermittent problems logging into the company's Web site over the past few days, company spokeswoman Michele Scott said Tuesday. Scott blamed the problem on "mainframe availability issues," but she didn't provide more details. On Tuesday, the access problems began just before noon, and Wells Fargo had fixed them by 2:45 p.m., Scott said.

Wells Fargo also experienced problems with its ATM network on Tuesday. The system was not able to provide real-time balances for some customers, Scott said.
