Ashford.com undergoing SEC probe

Ashford.com, an online luxury goods store, is being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Houston-based company said in a regulatory filing Friday. The SEC is looking into how Ashford accounted and reported recent marketing activities. Ashford said in the filing that it is cooperating with the investigation. The company also said it did not expect the probe to have a "material effect" on its financial statement. Ashford executives were unavailable for comment on Monday.
