Outages hit Amazon auctions

Amazon.com suffered several outages Sunday and Monday that affected its auctions, zShops and Marketplace areas, company spokeswoman Lizzie Allen said. Allen declined to give details on the cause of the outage, saying only that it was related to a "technical glitch."

Amazon sellers have reported a number of problems with its auction system over the last two days, including auctions that disappeared instead of automatically relisting, failure to receive notices that auctions had closed with a winning bid, and problems sending or receiving payments. The problems were related to the outages and have since been cleared up, Allen said.
