Short Take: Amazon acquires stake in eZiba.com

Amazon.com says it has invested $17.5 million in eZiba.com in return for a 20 percent stake in the online retailer of handcrafted products from around the world. The transaction gives eZiba access to more than 17 million new customers for its products through Amazon's Web site. The closely held company sells home furnishings, apparel, jewelry and art exclusively over the Internet, and it includes information about the origin of each item.
