Business Objects to buy text analytics firm Inxight

Business intelligence company Business Objects has announced that it will acquire Sunnyvale, Calif.-based software company Inxight Software. Inxight manufactures information discovery software that focuses on advanced search, data visualization, and text analytics features. With the acquisition, Business Objects hopes to bolster its enterprise offerings so that customers have an easier time organizing and analyzing both structured information and databases and unstructured information in formats like e-mails, Web sites and notes fields. The deal is expected to go through in July; financial terms were not provided.

Inxight isn't the only text analytics software company to get snapped up in recent weeks. Late last month, Reuters announced plans to acquire ClearForest to help manage large amounts of financial information.
