Linux products use new kernel

The first versions of commercial Linux products using the new 2.4 kernel are about to arrive. SuSE, a German Linux seller making a push into the United States, will use the new kernel in its version 7.1 release Feb. 8, the company said. Prices range from $29.95 to $69.96 for the product. Among the improvements in the new kernel, released Jan. 4, are better support for USB connections and for multiprocessor computers.
