Short Take: Sun expands storage connections

Sun Microsystems has made it possible to use more types of computers with its T3 "Purple" storage device, the company said Monday. The T3 formerly could be attached only to computers using Sun's Solaris operating system. Now it also supports Windows NT, Linux, HP-UX and AIX, Sun said. The product competes with other "network attached storage" (NAS) devices from Network Appliance, Dell Computer, IBM, VA Linux Systems, EMC and others.
