Short Take: Red Hat completes acquisition of C2Net

Red Hat has completed its planned acquisition of C2Net with a closing price of $42.7 million, the company said today. The acquisition gives Red Hat access to encryption software used in the Apache Web server. Red Hat, which reports earnings tomorrow, is seeking a new chief financial officer in the wake of the July departure of Hal Covert to SGI.
