If Sony delivers on their promise of 380 titles worldwide by March 2008, then they will recover and at least make a very strong showing in the current gen battle. Nintendo has jumped out to a strong lead, but I tend to wonder if the initial luster may wear off. I could be entirely off the mark with that prediction, but Nintendo has not announced a large number of unique first-party titles. Granted, Zelda and Mario franchises will still ell just as many consoles as Halo will for MS. Sony needs to put pressure on Konami and Square Enix to get their top franchises out for PS3(MGS and FF, respectively), as well as getting GT5 and DMC4 into stores.

On a side note, how old is that graphic at the lead of the story with the boomerang controller? Can't CNET at least have a relevant graphic?

And I have no plans to buy before the price cut

Oh Dear, how our little Darling Sony got so screwed up in the past few years??

In any case, I will *consider* buying a PS3 when it sells for $400. Before that, no way. My Xbox 360 and Wii will keep me plenty busy for the time being. Sorry Sony!

Sonys hardware is just not dependable enough

I have been a sony game player since the very begining -- from about a month after the release of the PS1 -- and the one common thing i have found with ALL of sonys machines is that they all wear out way too fast,I MEAN FAST people.
I have bought many PS1s and PS2s and only my most recent PS2 still works,so i always have a big laugh when i hear sony touting their "120 MILLION UNITS SOLD" song and dance,it is a joke and we all know it.
Now on the oher hand ALL of the nintendo hardware i have ever bought still works and i mean 100% of it,my NES has problems loading games but they all do-it was nintendos one design flaw, but the rest still works perfectly -- even some of the original controllers.
So i will be waiting for sony to lower their price a WHOLE LOT before i ever buy a PS3 that surely will only last a few months past a half a year.
