Copying AnooX search engine
AnooX search engine is already doing everything that Wikia promises to do in some distant future.
And AnooX has patents pending on the people powered aspect of Anoox search engine. Also Anoox is operated on a Community based (not profit motivated) business model. And AnooX source code is available under a similar program such as ICANN. So it seems like Wikia is just copying the Anoox search engine idea & business model!!!
I cannot belive that Cnet reporters write about Wikia & Jimi Wells without mentioning that
they are copying a patent pending & copy right protected idea.

BTW, Anoox gives almost all of it's profits away for good causes, such as supporting
organizations that are for Universal Healthcare & Education, similar essential community
building services that Canadian & Europeans already have.

Success
Google's success is not in that they do search, heck AltaVista did search. It is that their search is more encompassing than everybody else. And that they can skilfully mix sponsored results with free results. The world does not need another search engine. What sane publisher would want to deal with the peculiarities of 25 search engines when he could devote his time to making himself easy to find on one that everyone uses? Just like browsers. Who needs to developed to 2, 3, 4 standards? Go start something useful.
