They're more eyes on eBay to identify any potential stolen items than there will every be at a Pawn Shop. So requiring that garage sale items be legislated, while shifting my tax dollars away from education, is the reason this State is in the red as it is. This thinking is off the cuff and first year CEO school at best.

Ebay & the fraud that lurks within

I am sorry, but you only regulate something or somebody when they refuse to do it themselves.

Everybody said sell it on Ebay or buy it on Ebay. I did. 3 out of 3 times I had a problem. 3 out of 3 times they refused to honor their own dispute resolution. Now I just found out another friend got scammed to the tune of over $800. My file on Ebay is about 5 inches thick. I had to threaten to indict their officers BEFORE they quit hitting my credit card.

When I contacted the U S Postal Inspectors locally in Atlanta, GA, they told me they spend about 80% of their time and resources tracking fraud on Ebay.

Instead of government intervention... a better idea, take 80% of Ebay's gross receipts give it back to us and the Post Office - then there will be equity - oh and STILL regulate them to the highest extent of the law....

it's sort of like ID theft or anything else, when you cause me grief you broght the wrath on yourself.
