To have wireless network as rich as the internet we need wireless operators to charge per amount of data transfered like ISPs do, not per use of an application. Then they would not have to limit access to applications (to inflate their profits) and then applications would be developed by 3rd parties, just like on the internet, where ISPs don't charge different rates for different type of content in IP packets.

Google Lost. They tried to win and they failed to win. This is sometimes known as losing. There are no points for coming in second at an auction, you either win or you don't.

This is the Bush adminstration's FCC they will not hold verizon to some vague promise of keeping systems open. Verizon will do whatever it wants with its shiny new spectrum and the FCC will not question it. Why does the media assume that every done thing Google's management does is some sort of brilliant subterfuge. They are good at technology and mediocre at business. Microsoft is mediocre at tech and good at business. It will be intersting to see which one wins if they ever go head to head in search.
