I find this to be really sad.
by inachu June 21, 2007 7:30 AM PDT
The main character of a childrens book is being killed off?
That is the equivalent of killing off Bambi so that Thumper may live. I find the whole notion of killing off good characters in childrens books very very sad. Even let's say if he was morphed like from Gahndalf to Gahndalf The White. So I guess the next chapter has Harry comming back as a ghost? Either way.... JKR!!! THATS BAD FORM!

Its not as if we do not know someone will die.
by pjianwei June 21, 2007 8:40 AM PDT
Rowling always has made the point that the series will get darker and more adult. Similarly she is smart enough to tell people someone will die, makes you guess who is the one rather than some fairy tale endings. Fairy tale endings are for Disney who found the original versions too dark i suppose.
Harry's Matrix

Well, if they kill Harry someone else will become the main character, maybe Ron or Hermione... just like Rodimus after Prime died :P, unfortunatelly there are no more books after DH so I'll stick to me TFs :)

Harry doesn't die
by Sam Papelbon June 23, 2007 6:09 PM PDT
Snape sacrifices his life to save Harry (and kill Voldemort (who incidentally kills Hermoine moments prior))

final tally:
Snape, Voldemort, Hermoine = dead, dead, deado
Harry = virgin, but alive

It won't affect sales one bit either way
by jferrare June 21, 2007 8:03 AM PDT
People buy the books for the writing. Half the world will know the details the day after the book comes out. They'll still buy their copy and still go to the movie and then buy the boxed set DVDs. It's not all about who will do what, but how it happens and how she writes it. Execution (no pun intended) is everything.

zealots
by tgrenier June 21, 2007 8:23 AM PDT
spoiling or attempting to spoil the fun of millions in name of Christianity. Got to love those zealots. What is this guy, a hacker for Opus Dei? By the way, Gabriel says Harry lives.

Gabriel has some pretty serious issues. I wonder what other acts he will commit to protect his religion.

Gabriel is a useless troll
by Dr_Zinj June 21, 2007 9:14 AM PDT
Sad to say, there ARE some people the world would be better off without.

Gabriel happens to be one of them; since he (or she) seems to be incapable of creating anything of use on his (or her) own, and destroying anything of value produced by others.

Gabriel doesn't even have the legitimacy of the harpies, who only befouled the food of Phineus at the command of Zeus.

There's always got to be one...

Gabriel's goal was to remove the mystery about the end of the series and thereby deprive fans of the joy of reading the book. What he doesn't seem to realize is that the hype around his post won't affect the sale of the book or profits from the entire series of movies.

These books were never intended for children. Ms. Rowling has stated several times that they are for more mature readers. She has warned us that there will be deaths of the characters. Dumbledore was the first, but I think we would be naieve if we assumed that would be the only one.

I am eagerly awaiting both the release of the new movie and the book next month. I am not conviced that Gabriel is giving accurate information and look forward to discovering the truth on my own.

Idiots beware
by tanis143 June 21, 2007 8:47 PM PDT
Ok, he's just ticked because he ate some U No Poo and couldn't crap for a week. Seriously, those who claim that Harry Potter is turning kids into wiccan's are seriously absurd. Nothing in the book deals with modern day wiccan practices. All the components to the spells and potions use imaginary ingredients, even the wands use elements that are fictional.

Plus, the above comments are correct, knowing even just part of the plot is not going to deter people from reading the book. Plus, the lack of information he/she/it posted makes me believe they are just making this up.

Bogus!
by ZenMaster14 June 21, 2007 8:54 PM PDT
This is for sure bogus!

I read this so called "hackers" review of the info that he received.

JRK always give hints to the next book. One of the hints that she gave is that 2 (count them - two!) people will die in this last book.

This hacker has 3 (yes three!) people kicking the bucket.

JKR has never lied about the hints that she gives and I don't see her starting now....

I agree its bogus
by sturmsandra1 June 25, 2007 7:51 PM PDT
wait who was the third i dindt catch it? There is also his information about malfoy, Rowling said he was not a killer in HBP and to make a horcrux you would need to be a killer.
I am not a harry potter fan
by qwerty75 June 22, 2007 9:40 AM PDT
But I don't hate it either. I do wish that people would stop glorifying crap literature. At least Potter is better then that smelly piece of plagiarism known as Erogon. And it could get worse if anyone tries to hack that bloated mess of a story called The Wheel of Time. Could you imagine all that sniffing and braid-tugging in a movie?

Too much high quality fantasy out there to excuse this nonsense.

I personally hope that Harry dies. Anything else will be anti-climatic.

That is why Frodo left middle-earth.

There will be nothing else for Harry after this so to keep him around will be anti-climatic.

Hermione should just die on general principles.

At any rate, the whole thing will be anti-climatic. I don't think Rowling has the stones to let whats his face win, so does the ending really matter?

pathetically fake
by raynee June 23, 2007 2:33 AM PDT
Yeah having read the potter books enough times, and after reading the supposed ending, I laughed. They werent even well thought out. Gabriel could have done better, if he actually took the time to think it out. If harry potter fans read the spoiler, they will see right through it.

Why does this guy get publicity?
by techtalkforfamilies.com June 24, 2007 8:41 PM PDT
Here's what I don't understand: I could post "key details" as well as anyone else. Why do major news sources give this guy publicity?

So I did a bit of hacking of my own. Dumbledore turns into a phoenix, and Hagrid transforms into a semi, leading the Autobots to victory.

Puh-lease. If anyone gives this guy credence, they won't read it anyway for fear of spoilers.

Harry Potter Forever
by sturmsandra1 June 25, 2007 7:46 PM PDT
Even if this hoax is true, why should it make the book boring and not make me want to read it? On the contrary, I love the Harry Potter books and I would read it even if this turns out to be a true spoiler. As for this "Gabriel" person, whoeber they are they should not be getting publicity which is probably what they wanted to begin with.

X*X*X*X*X* WARNING SPOILER AHEAD X*X**X*X*X*X*XX*

Harry Potter kicks Voldemorts butt...wow who would have thought...Dumbledore revives from the dead. Harry's scar hurts most of the book, Hermione ends up slipping and breaking her knee. She is out of half the book...Ron's brothers save him when he is about to die. Cho goes for Ron instead of Harry...Harry has a choice to save cho or ron, but he saves ron. Snape is retired in the whole book....kind of gay.

Anyway ppl i know its harsh, but the gabriel idiot had to go.....

Wow.. umm you are both wrong!
by laurarocksX June 26, 2007 7:25 PM PDT
After working for this company for about 3 years. I had the opportunity to recieve a copy of the last book. So the Gabriel was some what right about company perks! However, No one has to worry the ending is not that gay. O and by the way im a christain...
Harry ends up battling (he who must not be named) He has to choose what friend to save out of his two best friends he has made at hogwarts. However before he could make that decision Ron lets go and dies so that Hermione is ok. Harry seems to absorb powers from his father, mother, and his old principle. His scar starts breaking and some how both sides of his body seperate and explode to relise the most powerful wizard of them all. Snape the one that he thought he could almost trusts starts to gang up with Valdamort and become his right hand man. They start kiling many of the other wizards and taking over to be the most powerful wizards in the world however, Snape gets killed by he who must not be named and at the end harry kills he who must not be named. Than ends up going to Rons house to talk to his family and Hermonie is just a wimp in this book. What happen to woman kicking butt? Wasnt she suposse to be smart fart...

Its all the Same
by chuck the buc July 20, 2007 7:18 AM PDT
I really believe Harry will destroy Voldemort after a fierce battle. Hermoine and Ron will fall in love and marry. The school will close. Harry, Ron and Hermoine will move to New Jersey. And the book will end 18 years from now in a small diner. They will be getting ready to order and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" will be playing in the back round, Harry looks up and see something and startles him the sound goes silent and the room fades to black.........
