There is no reason for this

Our governments irrational need for every conceviable piece of data on private citizens needs to stop.

If you care about the future of America and whether or not it remains free, please email your congressman and senator and tell them why this is a bad idea, and you will not support their relection unless they stop this sort of BS.

I think massive recalls all across the country is the only thing that is going to stop our government from trampling our country into oblivion.

Hmmm.. lets see... choicepoint.. that was a goverment funded database.. what we have is a homeland security guy and a bunch of control-freak republicans (And i dont refer to all republicans.. just the ones looking to take all our freedoms away).

Seems like its time for another revolution in the country. I seem to recall us criticizing and destroying the russian governement in the 80's for doing the exact things to its citizens.

These days we are giving more rights to illegal immigrants, and iraquis/afghanistanis than to Americans (And more money i might add. Iraquis are getting new schools.. my kids school has been begging for 3 years for funding to fix overcrowding)

Its time we remind the "elected" officials what that word means.. "FOR THE PEOPLE" to FOR THEMSELVES.

databases AREN'T your enemy

im sorry kids but you guys are lame

databases are not your enemy.

centralization of this type of information is DEFINITELY a good idea.

what are you guys scared of?

do you really think that it's impossible to keep a db secure?

it's not-- it's easy. mySql does a great job with security. and it's free.

SQL Server is a good solution... but it's overkill; and it's not that secure.

GO MYSQL!!!

You want the government to have unfettered access to anything they want about you?

If so, you might find China suits your tastes a bit better.

Nothing is totally secure and the government and businesses don't exactly have a good record when it comes to securing the personal data of others. This is a needless invasion of the privacy of students just so the government can gather statistics. As far as I concerned the government can stick to using aggregate information that contains no personally identifiable information.
